 Highlands Ranch

There are so many great places to live in and around the Denver Metro area that it can be hard to choose. If you are looking for a wonderful community that offers a wide array of outdoor activities, a strong school system, and a high quality of life than take a look at Highlands Ranch.

Lifestyle

Highlands Ranch, located 12 miles south of Denver in Douglas County, is a 22,000 acre master-planned community that was founded in 1981. With 22,000 acres comes access to 2,200 acres of open space, 23 parks, four state of the art recreation facilities, and over 70 miles of trails, making Highlands Ranch one of Colorado’s best places to live if you are looking for opportunities for an active lifestyle. In fact, 85 percent of homes in Highlands Ranch are located within one quarter mile of a park, open space area or trail. In addition, there are two skate parks, an outdoor inline hockey rink, four dog off-leash areas, eight lighted public tennis courts, three lighted ball fields, an historic park and three community gardens.

Highlands Ranch has also received recognition from Money Magazine as offering “the best of the Colorado outdoors”, as well as from Forbes who nationally ranked Highlands Ranch as one of "America's best 25 place to move. "

Housing

With such a well planned community and all of the outdoor activities that are offered it is no wonder that according to Business Week, Highlands Ranch has also been named one of the best places to raise kids in 2010. (http://images.businessweek.com/ss/09/11/1117_best_places_to_raise_kids/7.htm) One reason Highlands Ranch is so appealing to families is the steady home prices that have been seen in the community. House values range from the mid $200,000 up to $1,300,000. There are gated communities, luxury homes, golf course lots and quiet cul de sac lots. The community has a population of 93,477 with an estimated 29,040 single family homes and 3,305 apartments. Some of the subdivisions located in Highlands Ranch are Auburn Park, Brownstone at Town Center, Canyon Ranch, Carlyle Ranch, Chalet, Eastridge, Falcon Creek, Falcon Hills, Gleneagles Village, Highland Park, Lantern Hill, Mansion Hill, Palomino Park, Sundance at Indigo Hill, Stoney Pointe, and The Villages. House values range from the mid $200,000 up to $1,300,000.
